Fairchester Volunteers

Welcome to NFTE Fairchester’s Volunteer Homepage

Volunteers are essential to every NFTE program in Fairchester, including Fairfield County, CT, and Westchester County, NY. They provide valuable experiences, share personal stories, and are business mentors to our students. Our volunteer-guided field trips to local businesses and class visits from businesspersons help students to connect their classroom learning to the world around them.

Stock Gifts

You and young entrepreneurs can both benefit when you choose to give to NFTE with a gift of appreciated securities.

Stock gifts can have significant advantages over cash gifts, including:

  • Avoidance of capital gains taxes on the appreciated portion of the stock.
  • A tax deduction equal to the full fair market value of the stock on the date of transfer.
  • The ability to make a larger gift than might be possible with cash.

Simply instruct your broker to transfer the appreciated securities to NFTE’s broker.  You will then receive appropriate documentation from NFTE documenting your gift as required.

The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) is seeking a seasoned leader to join them as they work to bring entrepreneurial learning opportunities to young people across the country.  NFTE is a growing organization that will need an experienced Talent professional to provide support to all of their human resources functions as they prepare to grow.
