Zoey W., Deja au Vintage and Asia M., Fortuante!
At the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year, Asia, Zoey, and their classmates sat down in what they thought was going to be another finance class. Instead they were introduced to the NFTE program. Neither Asia nor Zoey imagined that a few months later, they would earn recognition both inside and outside of Baltimore for their business plans. Both students competed at the National Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge and were recognized by the Mayor’s Office on Minority and Women-Owned Business Development.
NFTE recognizes our teachers' dedication to their profession. Their innovative approaches to teaching the NFTE curriculum help our students to globalize their thinking every day, and to reach beyond themselves to become the business leaders of tomorrow. Every year, NFTE honors one teacher from each of our program offices and partner programs around the world at our Global Gala.
The NFTE Difference
NFTE works with students low-income communities across the country and around the world, which are often plagued by crime, violence and high dropout rates. In the United States, we target communities in which at least 50% of students are eligible for free or reduced price lunch.
