Over the years, our volunteers have shared their business knowledge and professional expertise to help more than 450,000 young people. Whether a business plan coach, business plan competition judge, field trip host, guest speaker, and/or support in our offices, our volunteers help young people connect their classroom learning to real world experiences.
Our volunteers are men and women as diverse as the entrepreneurial business they own or positions they hold. NFTE volunteers receive training, support and other learning opportunities, in addition to networking opportunities and invitations to volunteer recognition events.
Your local program office will assist you in broadening your skills by assigning you, when appropriate, to new volunteer positions that involve additional and/or greater responsibilities.

Lowell B. Mason Award for Exemplary Volunteer Service
The Lowell B. Mason Award for Exemplary Volunteer Service recognizes the volunteers who have best developed innovative ways to open doors for NFTE and its students. The award honors the memory of business pioneer Lowell B. Mason, who believed deeply in both free enterprise and one’s obligation to serve the community. Mason exemplified these ideals as both an entrepreneur and public servant. Through his commitment to NFTE, the award recipient serves as a powerful example of how business leaders can impact the lives and futures of children striving to become the next generation of American entrepreneurs.
