Ashley was inspired to start her business after taking a NFTE class following a traumatic personal experience. After the teenager spotted a candle-making set at a local store, she decided that it might be a good idea to start a candle business. She conducted a survey which showed that women and girls especially like candles, so Ashley decided to call her business A Girl’s Best Friend. Since she began, Ashley has sold over 1,000 candles to individuals and to people attending galas and trade shows. “NFTE taught me how make money from small things – and how to take things to a new place in my life.”
