Kera’s Kingdom
Gainesville, Florida
“Besides learning how to run a business, NFTE has really helped me with my social skills.”
As captain of her cheerleading team, school spirit had always been important to Kera. So, for her business plan she decided to create Kera’s Kingdom, a business that sells products like jewelry, bumper stickers, pins, and hair ribbons to promote pride in her school. “There are a lot of business skills that you don’t really see until you take the NFTE course,” she says. Kera, who had a son, Cadden, when she was 16, plans to finish high school, go to college, and become a dental assistant. “All I can think about now is how I want to live my life and raise my son. He’s pushed me to do better and keep going.”
