David Pantoja plans to launch Davids Pen Creations, a retail business which provides hand-crafted wooden mechanical pencils and pens. He participated in the NFTE course at the Boys & Girls Club of Oxnard and won second place in their BizCamp business plan competition.

David’s wooden mechanical pencils and pens are a means to an end. “My main business goal is to excel in the business of cabinetry and installations,” he says. “The idea of selling hand-crafted writing utensils is to raise the necessary profit which I would use to start my future business in cabinetry.”

David is thinking big about the future, and has ideas about creating “a national chain which I plan to spread throughout the U.S.,” he says. “Although the chances of a first-time business are slim, I do not plan on giving up on the idea. This is a business I want to carry throughout my life.”

When he finishes high school David plans to attend Corritos College to enhance his woodworking ability and expand his business knowledge.
