Hamis Beiruti – Operational Business
Pure Expression
Tel-Aviv, Israel
"I learned that I can make a respectable living and reach financial independence by being a young entrepreneur, and take responsibility for my livelihood."
Hamis Beiruti is a student at the Miftan Alon School, where he participates in the NFTE class sponsored by Ashalim, a program of JDC-Israel. He has been an entrepreneur for four years, since he launched Pure Expression.
“At Pure Expression, we design and create Judaica ornaments and handmade jewelry, made mostly of silver and pewter,” Hamis says. “I come up with the ideas and design them, as well as create the final product.”
His products include bracelets, rings, necklaces, key chains, mezuzahs and bookmarks. Hamis has displayed his work at conventions and art fairs, and has sold to a number of clients including UPS, IBM, the Tel-Aviv Municipality, and Israeli embassies around the world.
“Listening to the client has helped my products sell very successfully,” Hamis says. He is an Arab Israeli, and his work with Judaica ornaments is unusual.
