Advancing Enterpreneurship Education
The Youth Entrepreneurship Strategy Group (YES Group) consists of national leaders from the fields of education, entrepreneurship and business, public policy, media and philanthropy. A partnership of the Aspen Institute, E*TRADE FINANCIAL, and the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), YES Group was launched in 2006 with the promise of implementing youth entrepreneurship education in low-income communities nationwide, with special attention to the 9th and 10th grade levels, an age when many students are at highest risk for disengaging from school and dropping out.
YES Group members include the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, Goldman Sachs Foundation, Harvard University Graduate School of Education, Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, DECA, KIPP: Knowledge Is Power Program, Babson College, Brandeis University, OppenheimerFunds, National Association of Community College Entrepreneurship, National Education Association, Alliance for Excellent Education, The Coleman Foundation, W.K Kellogg Foundation, America's Promise, Junior Achievement, National Governors Association, CFED, Kathryn W. Davis Foundation, Juma Ventures, Philadelphia University, Miami Dade College’s Entrepreneurial Education Center, National Human Services Assembly, and the National Collaboration for Youth, among others. YES Group has the urgent task of promoting entrepreneurship education as an effective response for a number of converging issues now facing us both in the policy world and in the classroom: American competitiveness, workplace readiness, workforce development, student and teacher engagement, high school graduation, and drop-out prevention success.
Our goal is to find the best way to bring the promise of entrepreneurship education to a greater number of students, nationwide.
