Seven of NFTE Chicago Metro’s top young entrepreneurs have qualified for nationals and are headed to the final rounds of the National Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge this fall:
Nayla Walker, age 18, of Perspectives Leadership Academy. Nayla’s business, Blyss, is an online accessory/clothing shop that depicts girls of color as smart, strong, brave, and creative, in inspirational stories. The characters are shown on the clothes/accessories.
Kristina Vargas, age 18, of Holy Trinity High School. Kristina’s business, Dia-BEAT-It is a subscription box that comes once a month that provides the needs and wants of a diabetic.
Yetunde Arongudade, age 18, Antonio Finley, age 19, TyVon Jones, age 19, Diate Jackson, age 18, and Hasan Lipscomb, age 18, all of Chicago, IL. Their business, DesignAhhJean, is a service that customizes jeans based on the clients’ unique styles.
