About The Competition

Applications are now being accepted for the 2018-19 Model Teacher Challenge. The goal of the Model Teacher Challenge (MTC) is to showcase exemplary NFTE teachers by creating a competitive opportunity that allows them to disrupt, innovate and create engaging instructional classroom experiences that increase student participation, understanding and performance.

Who is Eligible All NFTE teachers who have taught for at least one year and are currently teaching a NFTE course (such as Owning Your Future, Entrepreneurship 2 or Startup Tech).

How to Compete Complete the application provided by your regional NFTE office and email it to tedt@nfte.com by November 29, 2018. Once you’ve applied you can start working on the materials needed to support your application: one NFTE lesson plan, a video of the lesson being taught, and a reflection on your teaching practice. Complete your entry by submitting portfolio materials no later than February 3, 2019.

Recognition and Cash Prizes Regional winners will be recognized in the spring at the NFTE Regional Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge finals. The first place winner in a region will receive a $6,000 prize. The runner up in a region will receive a $3,000 prize. Both first and second place regional winners will automatically qualify for the next round of national competition, where they can compete for a grand prize worth $20,000 ($15,000 cash award to the first place national winner and $5,000 to the winner’s school).
