My experience with NFTE has been tremendous. NFTE is more than an organization that provides students the opportunity to become great innovators, but NFTE is also like a second home. The mentors and support that NFTE offers provides students with comfort, nurturing, guidance, wisdom, and a great foundation of opportunity.

For the first time in St. Louis history, six local teachers in four different high schools will school 235 students in entrepreneurship.

The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) has teamed up with the St. Louis Science Center and the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis to offer NFTE St. Louis in the area. The program provides educational opportunities in business to underserved high school students. Mastercard is a founding partner of NFTE St. Louis.

We at the Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) believe that every young person has the potential to take an original idea and turn it into a fully functioning business. Our curriculum provides students with the ability to recognize an entrepreneurial spark and the tools to help them take that spark of an idea and create a robust business plan. In an effort to continually improve our services for graduates of NFTE’s core curriculum, Startup Summer was created by NFTE New York Metro as an advanced entrepreneurship track program.

By Tim Lakey, St. Louis Entrepreneurship Teacher

I started teaching entrepreneurship classes a few years ago. While preparing for my lessons I ran across an organization called NFTE. The group seemed to be a great source of information for any entrepreneurship teacher. The only problem was that there was no NFTE support in the St. Louis area. So I found other sources to help me teach my classes.

NFTE Baltimore has started the school year off with a unique partnership with two Departments within the Baltimore City Mayor’s Office. Our engagement with these city offices brings a new prominence to our work in Baltimore City and validates the importance of our work across the Baltimore Metro business community! It is these types of relationships that help NFTE bring sustainable change to the economic landscape of Baltimore City through our work with Baltimore City students.
