The NFTE Difference

NFTE works with students low-income communities across the country and around the world, which are often plagued by crime, violence and high dropout rates.  In the United States, we target communities in which at least 50% of students are eligible for free or reduced price lunch.

Alberto Carvalho, the schools chief in the Miami-Dade district in Florida, was named superintendent of the year on February 13 in Nashville. Carvalho has been Miami-Dade's schools chief since 2008, and an enthusiastic NFTE supporter throughout his tenure.  Carvalho recently recorded a video endorsing the work of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, which you can watch below. Upon accepting the award, he recognized the teachers, school board, staff and community partners, stating that the award was an affirmation of the work they were doing.

My experience with NFTE has been tremendous. NFTE is more than an organization that provides students the opportunity to become great innovators, but NFTE is also like a second home. The mentors and support that NFTE offers provides students with comfort, nurturing, guidance, wisdom, and a great foundation of opportunity.

For the first time in St. Louis history, six local teachers in four different high schools will school 235 students in entrepreneurship.

The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) has teamed up with the St. Louis Science Center and the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis to offer NFTE St. Louis in the area. The program provides educational opportunities in business to underserved high school students. Mastercard is a founding partner of NFTE St. Louis.
