Alfredo will be leading the Bay Area with our program, district and corporate partnerships. He is dynamic educator with 18 years of experience pioneering innovative approaches to public education. Prior to joining NFTE in 2014 he had an award winning career as an effective teacher leader in high poverty schools from the South Bronx to East Oakland. Highlights included being a founding member of Mott Haven Village Prep, one of the first New Century HS in New York City and starting a city-wide Model United Nations conference in Pasadena. His strong commitment to youth, families and transformative approaches to achieving equity in education have lead him out of the classroom to NFTE, where he leads the Bay Area team. His current focus is connecting high poverty communities to the innovation economy through designing new program models that connect industry professionals, educators, and youth in an entrepreneurial pathway.

Dawn will be leading professional development and driving teacher effectiveness. She comes with over 20 years as an entrepreneur and Business Consultant, and over 30 years experience working with non-profit and educational youth programming, as well as over1- years with NFTE. She has been a top performing NFTE teacher and over the past decade her students have been awarded over $30,000 as winners of the NFTE World Series of Innovation, and Moody Innovation Challenges. Recently with San Leandro High School Business and Finance Academy Director and business instructor with Eden Area ROP. In this role over the past two years she was able to teach a 3-year pathway cohort of business classes, with NFTE at it’s core.
Michelle Kliszewski, West Coast Development Director Bay Area/LA Michellek@nfte.com
Michelle will be leading the fund raising efforts for both the Bay Area and LA NFTE program offices. She joins NFTE following 12 years of success in the medical device industry. Michelle began her career as the third employee of a start-up orthopedic technology company. As the sales director, she grew sales to $2 million by the time of acquisition by Wright Medical Technology. Thereafter, she was retained by the acquiring company to manage a global sales team of seven employees to exceed sales quotas each successive year, growing total sales by 37% in her final fiscal year. After leaving Wright Medical, Michelle provided strategic sales consulting services for a variety of medical device, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical start-up companies. Michelle holds a B.A from the University of Pennsylvania.
Chris Howard focuses on volunteer recruitment and operations for the Bay Area office. He comes to this role with a diversified background in marketing, customer support, education and social media. Previous to NFTE he worked with the operations and customer support functions for an online marketplace startup. Over his career, Chris has worked on teams that developed integrated marketing campaigns for clients such as the Walt Disney Company, HP, and General Mills. Additionally, he’s worked with inner city schools in the Bay Area mentoring youth in various capacities. Chris attended UNC Charlotte and earned a degree in Marketing. Additionally, he earned a spot as a walk-on to their basketball team and competed in the 2002 NCAA Tournament.
