NFTE South Florida Staff
Alice Horn, Executive Director
Alice Horn was appointed to serve as the Executive Director of NFTE South Florida in January of 2006. Prior to that, she founded and directed KidVentures, Inc., bringing hands-on entrepreneurship education to economically isolated youth in grades 5-8. The project allows children to develop and run their own classroom business, marketing artistic products they create. Launched in 1999 as a pilot project in one school, the nonprofit grew to serve students throughout Miami-Dade County, including some of its poorest communities. While at KidVentures, she authored its 15-lesson curriculum, The Art of Business for Kids.
For the first 17 years of her career, Alice accumulated entrepreneurial experience through a variety of for-profit business ventures. She serves on the Advisory Board for the Miami Dade College of Business, the Business and Education Committee of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and belongs to The Commonwealth Institute. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Temple University and also attended the Kunstgewerbeschule in Zurich, Switzerland.
