Ten hardworking NFTE South Florida students and their teacher met Secretary of Education Arne Duncan on January 26.  Secretary Duncan honored the Miami Edison Senior High School students for winning NFTE’s World Series of Innovation with their businesses E*Pride and 300 Calories or Less.

The Secretary commented on the link between entrepreneurship and the large number of immigrants in South Florida, noting that children who come from immigrant households often grow up to be entrepreneurs.

He was in South Florida to promote education reform following President Obama’s State of the Union speech.
