Alberto Carvalho, the schools chief in the Miami-Dade district in Florida, was named superintendent of the year on February 13 in Nashville. Carvalho has been Miami-Dade's schools chief since 2008, and an enthusiastic NFTE supporter throughout his tenure. Carvalho recently recorded a video endorsing the work of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, which you can watch below. Upon accepting the award, he recognized the teachers, school board, staff and community partners, stating that the award was an affirmation of the work they were doing.
