  • How can I start a NFTE program in my community?

If you serve young people in low-income communities, NFTE's program could help your students improve their academic, business and life skills while they forge new paths to success! NFTE's programs are geared toward high school and middle school students. Find out how to start a NFTE program in your community.

  • What does NFTE do?

The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) inspires young people from low-income communities to stay in school, to recognize opportunities and to plan for successful futures. Our innovative entrepreneurship curriculum is offered in middle schools and high schools around the world through a network of program offices and licensed partners. We train teachers to deliver the program and provide them with support througout the year.

  • How does the NFTE program work?

Once a school has signed on to partner with NFTE we hold NFTE University, where the teachers who will be implementing our program are trained to deliver our unique curriculum. Once the school year begins and the NFTE program is under way, teachers receive ongoing support to maximize the student experience. Students come up with an original idea for the business, and throughout the course they work on developing a business plan which they then present and defend at the end of the course.

  • Can anyone participate in the NFTE program?

NFTE is available to students ages 11-18 who are attending schools where our program is offered, or via our BizCamps. To find out if NFTE has established programs in your area, visit our list of locations and contact the nearest office directly.

  • Do I have to pay to participate in the NFTE program?

NFTE is free for all students. Schools must purchase the curriculum materials for their students, and discounted rates are offered to all current NFTE teachers.

  • Where does funding for NFTE come from?

NFTE is funded by corporations, foundations and individuals who believe in our mission. To see a complete list of donors, visit our Supporters page. Learn how you can donate to NFTE and help more young people find success.

  • How can I get involved?

In lots of ways! We rely on volunteers to help us bring the business world to real life for our students - there are opportunities in every city we're in be a guest speaker in a classroom, coach a young person on their business plan, be a competition judge, and more. Find out more about volunteering with NFTE. If you don't have the time to volunteer, consider making a donation to help us deliver our program to more young people from low-income communities. A gift of just $50 can provide our award-winning textbook to one student.

  • I want to become an entrepreneur, but I'm not a student - do you have any resources available to help me?

Yes! Anyone can purchase our curriculum, which offers valuable information on how to start and operate your own business. Our books and other resources are available via our online store. You can also visit the For Entrepreneurs resource page for links to a variety of sites geared toward aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners.
