A Statement on the Conflict in Ukraine

February 28, 2022 | New York, NY

NFTE is deeply saddened by the events in Ukraine. Our hearts go out to all affected by this aggression, particularly the country’s 7.5 million children, all of whom deserve to the chance to pursue their ideas, passions, and futures in an atmosphere of peace and support.

As a global organization, we stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine as well as our partner organizations across Europe, whose ongoing efforts in youth development are a reminder that supporting every young person’s right to own their future is a global mission that requires cross-national commitment.

Here are some ways to help! Support international aid organizations (UNICEF, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), the International Committee of the Red CrossDoctors Without Borders, and the International Rescue Committee). Donate to the Emergency Student Fund, which helps displaced students in times of emergencies, including Ukrainians right now. Visit Kyiv Independent for information from Ukrainian journalists.
