Shawn K. Osborne brings a sincere passion for entrepreneurship and a professional record of business success to his role as President and CEO of NFTE (Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship).
Shawn’s commitment to hard work, leadership, and new ventures within the companies he has led embody the entrepreneurial spirit at the core of NFTE’s mission.
Before joining NFTE, Shawn served as President and CEO of TechAmerica, the premier international trade association for U.S. technology companies. At TechAmerica, he headed an organizational turnaround from substantial losses to breakeven with no long-term debt and orchestrated a successful merger with another leading technology association. He also influenced public policy and programs focused on education and entrepreneurship, including ConnectED, a White House initiative to improve K-12 education by upgrading connectivity to schools and training teachers on new education technology and the JOBS (Jumpstart Our Business Startups) Act.
In total, Shawn has more than two decades of experience running high-growth and high-impact companies, including Ulticom, the world market share leader in wireless signaling technology.
As President and CEO of Ulticom, Shawn spearheaded the transformation of the company from a professional services firm to a global software manufacturer. He also led the successful initial public offering (IPO) of Ulticom and sale to private equity. In total, Ulticom raised more than $200 million on the NASDAQ Global Market and was ranked in the top 10 best performing IPOs. Shawn also served as Chairman of the Board of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA). He has been recognized by Washingtonian Magazine as a Tech Titan and by The Hill newspaper as a Top Lobbyist.
