Patty Alper has been honored with NFTE’s Lifetime Volunteer Achievement Award in recognition of her more than 20 years of exceptional volunteer leadership, passion and contributions. The award was presented at the 13th annual National Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge on the evening of October 11, 2018, at the Edison Ballroom in New York City.
Many of the NFTE alumni in attendance that evening had personally experienced Patty’s dynamic style of mentorship – among them fashion designers Bruce and Glen Proctor, who were delighted to present Patty with her award. With warm words of praise for her mentorship and friendship, they welcomed a very surprised Patty up on stage to accept the honor and introduced an emotional thank you video, that played on the big screen center stage, featuring many of those whose lives have been touched by Patty’s energy, vision and generosity. NFTE is grateful to have a long time volunteer who is dedicated in activating the entrepreneurial mindset in the next generation.
Patty Alper is president of the Alper Portfolio Group, a marketing and consulting company, trustee of the Alper Family Foundation, a NFTE Board member, and the author of Teach to Work: How a Mentor, a Mentee, and a Project Can Close the Skills Gap in America.
