NFTE Fairchester Staff
Diane Rosenthal , Executive Director, joined the NFTE team in June 2012 and works closely with community leaders, volunteers and staff to ensure high quality program outcomes. Diane has as over 25 years of experience in non-profit management. Prior to joining NFTE FC Diane was the executive director of Literacy Volunteers-Stamford/Greenwich for ten years - the top performing volunteer-based adult education organization in Connecticut. She was the executive director of The New York Public Library’s adult education and literacy program for ten years. Diane earned an MS in education from Fordham University and started her career as a middle school teacher in Yonkers, NY. She has served on the Board of Directors of Neighbors Link Stamford and the Connecticut Association of Adult and Continuing Education and is on the Advisory Council for Latino U College Access.
Robin Altman , Program Director, has been part of the NFTE team for five years. She provides professional development for teachers, works with school district administrators and oversees the full implementation of the NFTE curricula including the business plan coaching and judging sessions. She is responsible for cultivating new opportunities for program expansion. Prior to joining NFTE, Robin was a business conference executive. She holds a Master’s Degree in education, is Montessori certified, and worked as a teacher for five years, including teaching in and managing a Montessori School, grades N-5.
Melissa Stone , Development Director, joined the NFTE team as its first full-time development director in April 2013 with 9 years of non-profit fundraising experience. Melissa previously worked as development director at Pet’s Alive, Inc. and prior to that as associate director of major gifts at NYU Cancer Institute. Melissa has a MS in Human Resource Management and Development from New York University.
Elizabeth Harrison , Program Manager, joined the NFTE team in August 2012. Liz works directly with schools and school district personnel to maximize student outcomes and is primarily responsible for the NFTE program in the Yonkers School District. Prior to joining NFTE, Liz was a teacher in the South Bronx and Harlem. During her 6 year teaching tenure, she served as the Head of College Readiness providing pre-college experiences for middle and high school students. Liz holds a Master’s of Education in Social Studies from the University of Rochester and a Master’s of Science in Literacy from the City College of New York.
